Thy KINGDOM come…

What did Christ preach?

[1] The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
Mark 1:1 KJV

Have you ever ponder what would you answer if someone would demand of you to say in one sentence what was the main thing that Jesus preached?

It seems simple at the first glance, especially if you’ve been a believer for some time…
In fact, the longer you’ve been in faith, the harder it is to give a short answer.

Our world is broken and ain’t getting any better as the time passes…
Quite the opposite.
Sin and death are an undeniable part of our daily reality.
Things are getting distorted more and more because of the selfishness of the heart, which inevitably leads to the biggest problem (in my opinion) for our reality: “the Lies”.

The reason why we struggle to make sense of our reality is the fact that we’re being fed by society, government, church or media, with lies…
Personal agendas make people twist and alter the perspectives they’re communicating to the masses.

Because of the broken human condition, this gets worse in direct proportion with the size of the body of population that is governed by the people in power.
Let me explain…

In the beginning of Christianity, there was One Person, with a message that convinced/converted twelve (in fact eleven) disciples.
The guy was a Jew, he wasn’t a Christian, and there was no church…
But as the body of believers grew, it was inevitable not to develop some sort of organisational structure. But the bigger the structure, the bigger the risk for a broken individual with ill intentions to climb the ladder of structural hierarchy, and now you have a powerful distorted individual leading the masses wherever his broken heart is drowned to. I don’t need to explain the terror and the massacres the church produced along the last millenia…we have a huge period called “the dark ages”.

How did that happen?
Small lies, became big lies, and people went to sleep, abandoned the rationality of the mind, and the walls of the citadel remained empty, with no watchmen in the towers….
Sad story.

Coming back to the initial question of this chapter, what did Jesus preach?

The kingdom of God.

Mark 1:15 KJV
…] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

The rest of the articles intends to unpack the idea and uncover the lies along the journey.

You might think its a simple subject, but I’d argue that it took an entire old testament to build the idea after the first humans left the Garden.
Let’s take it step by step and see where the trail leads.

“and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:32 KJV
